Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Just as the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit while they transport cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, utilizes a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and transport unstable or tall loads because there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the perfect answer if you are searching for a cheap method for moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you should transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in order to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that could work in smaller aisles. They are really useful pieces of machine in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
