Inventor Jerome Case founded the company of CASE in Racine, when he began the building of threshing machines. Later the company gained recognition internationally as the initial manufacturer of steam engines for its agricultural application. In time, the business grew to become the world's largest maker of steam engines.
By the year 1912, Case had become established within the construction machinery business. The rapidly began to produce road building equipment like graders and steam rollers. Case grew their construction machinery company through different acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation in the year 1957. Case had expanded their company by the mid-1990s to become the leading producer of light-sized to medium-sized construction machines.
During 1999, Case merged with New Holland to become CNH Global. This corporation became responsible for marketing some of the globe's leading brands of agricultural and construction machinery.
