Narrow aisle forklifts
Narrow aisle forklifts are usually used within warehousing operations. These types of forklifts are essential tools in the business since their small size and extreme maneuverability enable warehouses to utilize space to maximum storing capacity. They could easily pass aisles as narrow as 1.8 meters wide, whereas typical lift trucks require at least 3.4 meters of aisle width.
The two types are "narrow aisle forklift" and the "very narrow aisle forklift". The first need 2.4 meters - 3 meters in aisle width, whilst the second can function in a 1.8 meters wide space.
The narrow aisle forklift design features forks that are positioned at right angles to the body of the truck. The trucks do not need to face the shelves, but instead drive straight down the aisle picking up loads to the side. This design feature is the key to their suitability for limited spaces.
To be able to make certain that the forklift is moving in a straight line down the aisle, several very narrow aisle forklifts consist of optical or wire systems. That way, the operator can concentrate more on the placement and the picking of loads.
These kinds of lifts are outfitted with cushion tires made from solid rubber. The hard tires perform well on concrete floors and smooth, paved surfaces. Narrow aisle forklifts have electric motors suited for applications within indoor places. Propane-powered versions are available too.
