Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Canada

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Canada

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in warehouse and shipping operations. Also referred to as pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to move supplies and products around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks that are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump which can raise the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by one individual.

Pallet trucks should be operated with care in order to avoid loss of control while lifting heavy loads. Machine should be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Make certain that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet should be carefully stacked to guarantee that nothing would fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level found on the inside of the metal loop to release the air in the pump and lower the forks. The forks can then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks should be in the middle to be able to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not lift the pallet too high or the forklift could unbalance.

Pull on the handle and then drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is truly not safe to push the pallet in front of you since the thrust could cause it to lose control. Slowly take turns and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Slowly come to a stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
