Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescopic booms are big industrial machines designed with a straight boom arm that is extendable. The boom is typically located on a rotating turntable. The telescoping boom lifts are normally used for jobs which need tasks to be performed at heights which exceed other kinds of lifts. Like for instance, employees are able to perform exterior repairs or renovations on medium sized buildings but using these lifts instead of having the additional work of setting up a pulley system or an outside elevator.
The boom lift is only designed to hold one individual. These buckets are more suitable to particular tasks such as electrical repair, as opposed to general maintenance or window washing. These lifts are available with both outdoor and indoor tires and are available in gas or electric configurations.
Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are named for the cross-braces underneath the work platform. These braces squeeze together in order to push the platform straight up. Because these machinery must be directly positioned beneath the work site, as opposed to boom lifts, these units are way more limited in their use.
Scissor lifts do, however, offer larger platforms that enable the operator controlling the lift to access a bigger work surface once the lift is raised. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of an issue with these types of equipment, because they should sit on flat ground in order to be used. Scissor lifts are ideal for being used for window installation or cladding, since they provide the employees with the desired mobility; they are also a good alternative for exterior repairs or window cleaning applications.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Bucket trucks, cherry pickers and boom trucks each refer to the class a type of utility vehicle utilized specially for vertical work. Typically, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the operator sits and controls the machine. There is a bucket for where the employee could stand in addition to an actuator arm for raising the boom and a winch for carrying.
Cherry pickers could lift workers up to heights that were previously inaccessible. The cranes function is to raise both heavy materials and equipment for one place to another. There are a variety of different crane types that could carry out a variety of purposes. Both of these different kinds of machines excel at various tasks and are great for particular applications and finishing certain tasks.
